Tecar Therapy
Advanced radiofrequency-based energy therapy that delivers deep thermal stimulation to accelerate tissue recovery and relieve chronic pain.
Tecar Therapy (Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive) is a sophisticated electrotherapy modality that uses high-frequency radiofrequency energy to generate deep, targeted heat within the body's tissues. Unlike surface heat treatments, Tecar works from the inside out — stimulating cellular metabolism and improving circulation at depth without discomfort.
How Does Tecar Work?
The device uses two modes: capacitive mode targets superficial soft tissues such as muscles and fascia; resistive mode penetrates deeper to reach bone, joint capsules, and tendons. The therapist applies a handheld electrode with gentle pressure and circular movements across the treatment area.
Benefits of Tecar Therapy
- Produces deep thermal effects that reach muscles and joints
- Helps reduce pain through improved tissue metabolism
- Enhances blood circulation and oxygen delivery to tissues
- Relaxes tight muscles and reduces spasm
- Speeds up recovery from soft tissue injuries
- Aids lymphatic drainage, helping reduce swelling and oedema
Conditions Treated
- Chronic tendinopathies
- Muscle and ligament injuries
- Joint pain (knee, shoulder, hip)
- Post-operative rehabilitation
- Chronic lower back pain
- Neck and cervical spine pain
